The International Goalkeeper Coaches Conference (IGCC), founded by Phil Wheddon in 2016, has emerged as a premier event dedicated to the art and science of goalkeeping. Established to bring together coaches, players, and enthusiasts from around the globe, the conference serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, strategies, and innovative techniques within the realm of goalkeeping.
Phil’s vision for the IGCC was to create an inclusive environment where coaches of all levels could engage in meaningful discussions, learn from industry leaders, and enhance their coaching methodologies.
MEET OUR FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
PHIL WHEDDON
Phil Wheddon is the Director of the International Goalkeeper Coaches Conference with extensive goalkeeping experience across youth, collegiate, professional, and international levels.
Current Role:
Director of Goalkeeping and First Team Assistant Coach for the Philadelphia Union, overseeing goalkeeping development from first team to academy.
FIFA Technical Goalkeeping Expert
National Team Contributions:
Joined U.S. National Teams in 2000.
USWNT: Bronze medal finish at the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup; Bronze medal finish at the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup; Gold Medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics; Gold Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
USMNT: Led to victory in the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup; 2006 FIFA World Cup; 2023 Nations League Champions.
Notable Goalkeepers Trained:
Brianna Scurry, Hope Solo, Kasey Keller, Tim Howard, Andre Blake, Matt Turner and more.
Licensing and Qualifications:
U.S. National Licensing instructor since 2001; holds USSF A License and National Goalkeeper License.

The International Goalkeeper Coaches Conference, is an goalkeeper coaching education event like no other. It consists of three packed days of field and classroom sessions. The 2026 IGCC marks our 10th anniversary! If you haven’t attended yet, this is definitely one you won’t want to miss.

Typically we start registration on Friday between 12:30pm to 2pm. Then we start our first session around 2:30pm. As we get closer to the conference, the schedule will be announced.

No, the hotel is not included in your registration.

Yes, we will be recording each session and only attendees will receive a private link to the field and classroom videos. We ask you that you do not share these videos with anyone

No, we do not sell the videos separately. You can register and if you are unable to attend you will still receive the videos.
